Friday in Walthamstow
Sunday in Bow
On Monday Croydon
Was the place to go.
It’s not exactly easy
To read out loud
With total strangers
In the crowd.
But I got up
And made that first step
Such a nice feeling
Not to be out of my depth.
And even though
I don’t like to show it
For the first time in my life
I feel like a poet!
